KKNK 2025 Programme Proposals

KKNK 2025: ONLINE FORM FOR PROGRAMME PROPOSALS

Submit your programme proposal for the KKNK from 1 to 6 April 2025 online. Only proposals submitted online before the closing date of Sunday 14 July at midnight will be considered.

Ensure that you have your synopsis, music or presentation ready to upload as part of your proposal.


SECTION A: DETAILS OF PRESENTATION

Details of the contact person (the link between the presentation or company and the KKNK and must be easy to reach and able to make decisions).


Artform or programme type

Genre

Choose the genre of your presentation here i.e., drama, comedy, stand-up (for theatre); music theatre, contemporary music, classical music, cabaret (for music); movement theatre, dance theatre or site-specific theatre or indicate if other. 


SECTION 2: SYNOPSIS

Your complete script, music and other supporting documentation must be uploaded here.

For theatre – and music productions, literary art programmes, storytelling, poetry, dance theatre, children’s theatre, street theatre and Lucky Pakkie:

Submit a theme, summary of the storyline, short description of characters and artistic vision of your production. This is your pitch – ensure that the evaluators know what the product is and convince all involved to select the proposal! Only complete scripts will be accepted.

For music stage performances:

Introduce the artists or musicians thoroughly with a summarised biography, highlights from the artist’s career and possible etc. This is your pitch pitch – ensure that the evaluators know who the artists are and convince them for bookings! Examples of music must be uploaded.

For Klein Karoo – and lifestyle experiences:

Supply more information about the concept of your idea, where and how it will be presented, who is the presenter, why it is special and why the KKNK should include it as part of the programme.

The following formats are accepted: pdf, txt, doc, docx, ppt, xls, xlsx, mp3 and mp4. Ensure that you document is smaller than 5MB.

Requirements and restrictions

The KKNK provides basic lighting and sound in all venues, but if your production or performance has any specific or extraordinary technical and/or logistical requirements, without which the production can be performed, let us know here.


SECTION 5: CONTRACT TYPE

Indicate your preferred contract type below. A description of the various options is included, or refer to the KKNK 2025 Programme Guidelines for more information.


Box office contract

KKNK shares in the box office income of the presentation at the KKNK but carries no responsibility in the creation of the presentation. Most of the presentations are accepted on this basis. No venue hire is charged, and basic technical and marketing support is supplied.

Fee contract

KKNK produces a selected number of debut productions. In this case KKNK carries the turnover of the production and accepts responsibility for all the runs. In return, KKNK expects input into the creative process. A carefully planned budget on the supplied template must accompany the proposal. 

Co-productions

KKNK welcomes proposals to develop productions in collaboration with production houses, theatres, companies and/or other festivals. This option is only applicable to individuals who already have other partners interested in the proposal or who are willing to share a partial risk.
