{"id":2194,"date":"2022-09-27T08:00:49","date_gmt":"2022-09-27T08:00:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.webgap.xyz\/kknk\/nuus\/ten-texts-from-kknks-teksmark-developed-further\/"},"modified":"2023-11-06T00:06:37","modified_gmt":"2023-11-05T22:06:37","slug":"ten-texts-from-kknks-teksmark-developed-further","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kknk.co.za\/en\/kknk\/ten-texts-from-kknks-teksmark-developed-further\/","title":{"rendered":"Ten texts from KKNK&#8217;s Teksmark developed further"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ten texts from the Klein Karoo National Arts Festival (KKNK)&#8217;s seventh <strong>Teksmark<\/strong> were identified for further development.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Teksmark<\/strong> was presented from 24 to 26 August at the <strong>Baxter Theatre<\/strong> in Cape Town and could be attended for free by anyone interested. 22 writers presented their ideas and 90 actors and directors took part to perform excerpts from the texts as reading theatre.<\/p>\n<p>Faheim Stellenboom, marketing manager of the Baxter Theatre, highlighted Wilken Calitz and Shaun Oelf&#8217;s <em>Karatara<\/em>, that was on the <strong>Teksmark<\/strong>-stage three years ago, as an example of this project&#8217;s success. &#8220;After <em>Karatara<\/em>&#8216;s run at the KKNK, where it was crowned with the Kanna for best debut work, it recently returned to the Baxter Theatre, where it all started with <strong>Teksmark<\/strong>, for a short season.
